From here, according to tradition, the goddess Aphrodite emerged from the waves, while another tradition relates to the Byzantine hero Digenis Akritas, who in the pursuit of the Saracens took a huge rock and threw it into the sea against them. This stone gave the name to the area. On the left side of the cliff the beach is made of pebbles, while on the right side it is mostly sandy. This beach wins you over with its landscape and is why you should visit it at least once in your life. Like Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, sprang up through the foams and waves of this particular beach, in the same way, according to a myth, those who bath in its blue waters are blessed with unique gifts, such as eternal youth, beauty and love.
