The village of Melandra in the Paphos district was a mixed village until 1974, as Greek Cypriots co-existed with the Turkish Cypriots. Amidst the wild vegetation of the now abandoned village is a church dedicated to Agios Nikolaos, which coexists with a mosque, reminding of the once peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims. It is an arched stone temple. Its interior is very sparse, as it consists of a simple iconostasis with few pictures.
