The beach was already a popular destination for bathing, eating and drinking since the mid-20th century. In many, it is still known by the name "Kastella", referring to one of the old coastal centers of the area. It is a coast suitable for all the hours and the whole family, since it can offer moments of relaxation under the umbrellas or on the sunbeds - beds, playing games in the sand and the playground, right next to the shore, as well as fun, with music, food and drink from the beach bar. For all these reasons, the beach at Agios Tychonas, in front of the beach bar La Isla, is one of the most popular diving options near the city.
