Tenta Archaeological Site

The Settlement of the Neolithic Age Tenta is a short distance from the village of Kalavasos and dates back to 7000 BC. It is one of the most important Neolithic settlements on the island and is covered by a characteristic cone-shaped roof, which is a contemporary architectural intervention in the landscape. According to local tradition, the name of the site dates from 327 AD, when Saint Helen, the mother of Constantine the Great, stayed in a tent ("Tent") at this site during her visit. on the island and after the discovery of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem.
